Victorian Straits Chinese handbag, heavily beaded in white beads including handle, in amazing condition, with embossed floral patterns on both sides. Size 15.24cm high by 24.13cm wide at base. A rare find in such excellent condition, the white beads were crafted in embossed designs. Used by the Straits-Chinese ladies on their many afternoon tea parties and like their amazing talent in mixing and matching their fashion of their day, the afternoon teas would have been made from the best British tea leaves accompanied by sandwiches and their very own Straits-Chinese cakes in colourful layers of delectable dollops of coconut milk heaven.
